Solidarity came back in with a slight skip in his step. "I don't know if that's the best-" Katherine said doubtfully. "I don't think he gets out much, he probably thinks it's normal," Katherine added. He wasn't stupid, and he couldn't stay he hadn't begun to suspect it. Jimmy didn't even bother to be surprised. I think Scott has been badly abused, which is why he won't ask for help. "I am listening!" Jimmy told her indignantly. "He looks like he's-" Katherine began, eyes widening to match Jimmy's. She hadn't left, just come outside to make Scott less nervous. "Katherine?" Jimmy called, heading out of his hut. Plus, there was no way a twenty-year-old should be that light. He was like, four feet! And elves were known for being tall. How on earth- there was no way Scott was healthy. Solidarity's eyes widened and he snuck out the door. "Twenty," Scott told him, looking away and crossing his arms.
"I'm just curious," Solidarity told him, seeming slightly wounded. Like he was just gonna tell Solidarity? Yeah, no.
"Why do you need to know?" Scott asked resentfully. Humans were so annoying!įlower Lady left the room and Solidarity came and sat down across from him. Now he knew why his parents had told him to stay away. " Yes! Will you stop asking!?" Scott replied. Solidarity and Flower Lady glanced at each other. Not like he'd done much to prove them wrong. Seriously, why were humans so nosy? Clearly they though elves were fragile or something. "How are you feeling?" Solidarity asked him. The Swamp Empire must be quite rich if they could afford to waste a bed on him. Scott decided it was best to stop their conversation right there. "That's not normal even for elves," Flower Lady replied. It was that flower lady something-or-other, Scott couldn't remember her name. "My gosh, how do you think he got like this?" another voice asked. "Yeah, he showed up like this last night, except it was a lot worse," Solidarity was saying. He heard low voices and realized that no, he wasn't dead. If this was the afterlife, he'd be fine with that.
